Hey all!

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments!  We read them each morning.  Finkles, we love the randomness…game updates and the cleaning of rooms and whatnot!  John H.everyone was excited to hear from you since you have been gone so long!  Wives of Jamie and Mike, you must know that your boys miss you!  They miss the mornings when we read the comments because they are already at the build sites.  They are funny in the evening when they stalk me and wait up until they can catch me to give them the sheets with the love notes sent from their wives!!  Somehow Scott from the buld team is always around when we read them…I have not figured out yet how he manages that one…the build site is faaaar from camp and they only have one vehicle.  I think he can secretly teleport!

John H., you asked about the house we built last year.  We have good news and bad news to report.  The house is looking great, they have done a lot of work on it since we left!  I spoke to the mom today and she is really excited because DIF (Mexican Social Services) is going to put electricity in for the fam.  I have been picking up about 6 kids from the house each day to take them to VBS…I really have no idea where they all come from.  Only 3 of them are from the house!  On the bad side, some of the kids have been taken away again and are living with DIF.  Upon speaking to DIF, I have learned that the reason is that the mom went to work and left the kids at home alone.  DIF showed up and found out, so they took them again.  SHe should have them back soon, though.  The dad is in jail for stealing.

I am excited for this year, because DIF took the time to really consider which family should receive a house.  They went over many files to determine who would be best served with a new house and who would take the best care of it.  There are immense differences between the family this year and last year.  I can even only take the kids to VBS for about 2 hours, because they are so concerned about getting back to the house to help build!  DIF also purchased the electrical supplies, which was a HUGE help!!

ok, that´s all I have to say about the comments…

Thanks for shaing your love and prayers with us!!

In His Grip,

Amy

Hola, Miguel. Even though I am so busy with work, grad class, and practicing my salsa dancing for the play (details when you get home!), I miss you! Our house seems so empty and lonely without you! I am so excited that the house in Mexicali is on schedule. It sounds like God is blessing your hard work and efforts. As always, you and all of the other teams are in my prayers. I am going to be showing your Mexicali video and pictures on Friday to my students. Since it is my last day with them, I really want to leave them with something to think about. One more day in Mexico, and then you will be on your way home! Give me a call when you cross the border - even if it is the middle of the night here (unless you are completely exhausted). Tell Jamie the same for Laura too! I love you! Para siempre, AJ

Sarah - I hope all is going well at your site. I am sure that it was wonderful to see Pastor Arturo again! Thank you for the card! It seems weird that I am in Michigan, and you are in Mexico. I miss you! You are in my thoughts and prayers each day! Love you, Andrea
